I’ve been tagged – the Versatile Blogger award

I mean, how cool is that? I see all these awards get tagged all over the place but I never get none. (Bad grammar on purpose there, fellow grammar police!!)

I was tagged with the Versatile Blogger award by Karen at Solodialogue. Thanks Karen! Karen & I have been learning from each other, which is always a good thing. 🙂

This award comes with some rules.

✿♡✿The Versatile Blogger Rules:

1. Thank the person who awarded you and link back to them in your post.
2. Tell 7 Random facts about yourself.
3. Pass the award on to 15 new found bloggers.
4. Contact each blogger you want to pass the award on to and let them know you’ve done so, and let the giver of your award know you accept it... or not. :-)

As you can see, I’ve already accepted this award.

And now, I have to think of seven random facts.

1. According to my latest doctor visit and ultrasound, I am “unremarkable.”  That’s a good thing. Means my physiology is boringly normal and there’s nothing wrong with me.

2. Once upon a time I met a entrepreneur who is famous (an “identity”) only in Vancouver, BC, Canada. His name is Jimmy Pattison.  I was something like 13-14? I think. I had just finished eating a very blue popsicle (an ice block to my fellow kiwis). We shook hands. Poor guy. I saw him rubbing his hands afterwards, cuz my hands were very sticky!!

3. I came in 4th place for a short story writing competition for Owl Magazine when I was 9. It was about Komondor sheep dogs.

4. Freesias are my favourite flower.

5. I can fold origami dragons. It’s pretty much the only origami (besides paper cranes) that I can do.

6. I love Gilbert & Sullivan operettas despite the fact they’re really horrible portrayals of women.

7. I can play piano and I’m learning to play guitar.

There’s my 7 random facts. Now I have to pass it on! Except I think 15 blogs is a tall order.  Most of the blogs I visit have either already received this award or won’t respond to it!!  Don’t worry, I won’t be insulted if you don’t follow the rules. I’m not a big stickler for rules.

Hmmmm. Who to pick?

First, for JennTheGamerMom at Out of the Mouth of Gamers’ Babes for the darnest things her kids say and for the geekery that goes on. Sometimes I feel like we’ve known each other for ever.

Second, for Jenn at You know… that Blog? who is clearly a long lost sister.  Funny that I have two long lost sisters who both have the name Jenn. How does that work?

Third for my fellow Kiwi, Simone at Greatfun4kids.  I love her pictures and her birthday parties are amazing.

Fourth, Stacey at Moderate Means because I know she could use some uplifting cheer. And we have the same ideas about trying to do more with less.

Fifth, WhisperingWriter at Airing My Dirty Laundry, One sock at a time, even though she probably won’t accept it, because her posts make me smile.

Sixth, Lynn at For Love or Funny, even though she probably won’t accept it, because I love her pictures, she IS funny, and I love how she takes time to respond to each of her commenters with a witty remark. (That must be hard!)

Seventh, NovelNaive at NovelNaive.  She’s new to blogging and I think she needs some encouragement. (So please visit her and encourage!!)

Eighth, MaryMurtz at The Eleventh. She used to post every day but lately she has been suspiciously quiet. I give her this award to encourage her to write again.

Ninth, Diana at Write in the Midwest because she encourages new writers.

Tenth, BlondeDuck at A Duck in her Pond because she writes very imaginative stories.

Now I know why Karen didn’t count hers.  (She only did 14!!!)  I’m going to have to stop there.  Happy browsing everyone!!

Oh GEEEEZ, thanks “Sis” 😉 Making me work for it, eh??

I’m such an open book on my blog I’ll be hard pressed to come up with 7 things you don’t already know about me!

Ok, ok… I’ll see what I can do. Thanks again…

  2. Simone says :

Thanks Broot… I’m not much of a game player these days, but I sure do appreciate that you picked me!

S’all good. I completely understand!! I figured that would be the case with most of the people I picked but wanted to let them know I enjoyed reading their blogs anyways. 🙂 And I missed some, drat! Was getting late when I finished it.

  3. JennTheGamerMom says :

I accept. Give me an hour

  4. Lynn from For Love or Funny says :

    Broot,
Thank you so much for singling me out as one of the blogs you enjoy reading! That means a lot to me. Since my blog is semi-professional (i.e. a place for editors and agents to check me out), I won’t be able to do the meme. Nonetheless, I thank you! You made my day!

    Warmly,
    Lynn 🙂

  5. Dianna Graveman says :

I accept, too! Thanks for picking me–I’ll get right on it.

  6. solodialogue says :

Well, now I’ve got my work cut out for me to visit all these other bloggers! Loved reading all about you – I too, play piano and have some guitar lessons under my belt. Started out learning classic rock on the guitar and switched to classical because that was my piano training and what I really love to play on the guitar as well!

Btw, it was 15 – there is a husband and wife blog there and I tagged both of them unless it was actually 15 blogs instead of bloggers ….no, I’m good. But 15 was a killer!

This was quite a fun read. Glad you went by and talked to some of my regulars as well. 🙂

    • Broot says :

Ah okay. I must have missed that. And I could have added a few more bloggers but boy that post took a long time!! I enjoyed reading the blogs of your regulars, too. Some of them visited me, which was lovely.

  7. Blond Duck says :

This looks like such fun! I’ll do it for my next Tuesday post. 🙂 Thanks!

  8. Caren with a "C" says :

I love freesia too! They smell so good!

  9. Adrienne says :

Congrats on your award! I love fressia. The thought of that scent from bath and body works takes me back all the way to middle school! Sigh…I don’t even knowif they make that lotion anymore?

    • Broot says :

Oh I don’t know that one. Sorry can’t help with that. The freesia grow in my garden every springtime and I’m missing them. (It’s Autumn here in New Zealand!!)

  10. Sarah says :

“Random facts” are the best way to truly get to know someone. I mean, really, how much do you know about a person after Name/Age/Kids?/Job/Hobbies ?? It’s the closet skeletons and “most embarrassing” stories and the “I have never”s —- that’s the good stuff.

    Congrats on your award.

  11. novelnaive says :

Wow – so honored – and definitely encouraged! Thanks so much. My blog award entry is complete, but that might have been my most stressful entry yet! Thanks!!

  12. classycareergirl says :

Congrats! What a great award! 🙂

  13. trisha says :

congratulations for the award. thanks for sharing these sweet truths about yourself. 🙂

  14. Samantha says :

I love the smell of freesias!

I spent 6 years in Japan when I was younger, and although I used to know a lot of origami, I doubt I could do any of it now without relearning it! So I’m impressed with your ability to do dragons and cranes! 🙂

Thank you for visiting my blog today!

  15. Blond Duck says :

    Happy Thursday!

  16. eof737 says :

WoW! Congratulations and it looks like the recipients were thrilled. 8)
